Artist's Comments

I went to watch the sun rise early this morning and spotted this rainbow behind me that seemed to fade in out of nowhere. This was taken from the Weymouth wharf, looking across the Manukau Harbour and towards the Karaka farmlands.

The small boat seen here goes past every day but this is where it gets moored before it goes to work in the morning. The rainbow reminded me of the one scene in my ‘Surprise After Sunrise’ photo seen here.

The actual sunrise in the opposite direction was awesome to watch too, was a hard choice when it came to which one of nature’s wonders to watch. Wasn’t very cold this morning, I was the only one around once again. Didn’t even see any fishermen going out today, most times I’m there the boat ramp gets quite busy. Was another great start to the day, with the added bonus of a ‘random’ rainbow.

Thanks for viewing.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while.

Thanks! :)

I love how the rainbow is so bright and the clouds are kinda dull behind it. It makes the rainbow stand out even more :). I wish I could've seen it with my own eyes, but this will suffice ^.^. It's a very good picture, and I love it :D.

Thanks alot! I really appreciate your comment. The sky changed from red to this dull gray colour as the sun rose. Fortunately the gray really brought out the colours like you mentioned. I had the same sort of sky in my 'Surprise After Sunrise' photo, which also featured a rainbow. It's in my gallery if you want to see it :). Thanks again, glad you like this shot.

I still have yet to go through the rest of your gallery, but I will soon! I've been working like crazy, and I work the next 4 days ;(. So soon, very soon, I will be molesting your gallery :P. I saw a lot of thumbs that I think will be interesting in full-view :).

Ah ha! I've been looking for this picture :D. I should really organize my favourites, but oh well lol. I saw this contest [link] and I thought you'd be interested because you have a few rainbow pictures, and I think your pieces would be a great addition to the contest :).

Stunning capture. The composition is outstanding, how the boat is in the perfect spot! Wonderful colours too.
